When Your Cup Feels Empty

Prayers and honey-sweet encouragement for parents, teachers, and weary souls

Going into August, I had it all mapped out in my head: the kids would be back in school, we’d settle into a routine, and I’d be ready to hit the ground running. Ha! How naïve I was just a few short weeks ago.

Instead, the Lord placed something entirely different on my heart.

So rather than pontificating or pretending I have some great wisdom to offer, I’ll just say this as plainly as I can: I’m empty. My cup is bone dry. I wake up already tired and wonder how I’m supposed to pour out when there’s nothing left to give.

Maybe you’ve been there too?
